Qualcomm has substantially cut both revenue and profit forecasts as it revealed that Apple has ceased all royalty payments to the company pending the outcome of lawsuits between the two companies … Qualcomm’s general counsel Don Rosenberg described the move as a ‘global attack’ by Apple, seemingly referring to the fact that Apple suppliers are already withholding royalty payments Reuters reports that Qualcomm’s stock price fell on the news. Apple originally sued Qualcomm, claiming that it had been charging royalty fees for technology it didn’t own, and that it had been over-charging for tech that it did, as Tim Cook recently explained....

Core members of the Rainbow Six Siege development team, including the creators, are moving on from the popular shooter to spearhead a new project at Ubisoft. There’s no denying how important Rainbow Six Siege has been for the publisher, with the game continuing to grow year-over-year thanks to a post-launch roadmap. The game was even up for an award at 2019’s The Game Awards, which it ultimately lost out on, but the fact that it was mentioned as one of the best ongoing games of 2019 speaks volumes for the support it still recieves....

Bloomberg points at an RBC Daily story which claims that Apple could begin selling iPhone 5 in Russia this November, “almost immediately” after sales begin in the US. The Russian newspaper’s story is sourced from unnamed handset retailers. Bloomberg notes: So, the Russians likely won’t be getting their hands on iPhone 5 the same day as their American counterparts. On a brighter note, it took the country three months last time to get iPhone 4 so this would be an improvement (Hope Russian President gets his iPhone unlocked this time) It is interesting that Apple is allegedly prepping to open its first Russian store inside the trade gallery of the reconstructed Hotel Moskva, near Kremlin, in late 2011....

Philips Hue has expanded its lineup of smart lights considerably over the years and that’s included its outdoor options. In an announcement today, the company shared that power supply units included with six Philips Hue outdoor products sold between 2018 and 2020 could short circuit and in “very rare cases” cause electrocution when touched.
