It appears that lukewarm reviews and less-than-stellar demand is creating fierce competition amongst early-entrants into the MFi game controller space. Just last week SteelSeries knocked $20 off its Stratus controller, and now Logitech is going even further and slashing $30 off its PowerShell controller. The news follows our in-depth look at the MFi game controller program where we talked to companies about complaints over pricing and the less than stellar reviews of the controllers....

Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow is finally available for download from iTunes. The game is free, but offers in-app purchases … The game allows you to play as any of the main characters, and effectively contains some all-new Futurama episodes in game form – with dialogue written by the show’s writers, David X. Cohen and The Simpsons creator Matt Groening. The game has been heavily hyped in advance of its launch, first teased back in February, promoted with a mini-episode trailer last month and again with a further mini-episode earlier this month, that one featuring Stephen Hawking, George Takei, Bill Nye, and Neil DeGrasse Tyson (below)....

The reviews for Bethesda’s Rage 2 are beginning to arrive, and early sentiment appears to be a decent game with some superb execution coupled with disappointing world-building. Rage 2 was at the center of one of the most talked about leaks last year when Walmart Canada accidentally revealed the existence of the game ahead of its massive E3 reveal, and hype for the game hasn’t really fallen off since then — fans were blown away by how improved the game looked compared to the original, and rumors over the Rage 2 loading times being nonexistent made it sound like one of the games to watch heading into 2019....

It’s a sports movie that manages to balance drama and biographical recounting of a real story, which makes the film even more unique and relatable. Last week Ubisoft released Operation Velvet Shell, the first update for Rainbow Six Siege Year 2 for players who purchased the Year 2 season pass. For everyone else, the two new characters that come with the first Siege DLC of 2017 became available this week for purchase using in-game credits. Velvet Shell, like the four DLC releases of 2016, also comes with a single new map and a game update that represents what of the more significant patches for the Tom Clancy tactical shooter....

We last wrote about the new space-hardened Raspberry Pi units, dubbed Astro Pi, in September and they launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in December as part of Expedition 66 on a Dragon Cargo spacecraft atop a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. The AstroPi units are part of a project run by the European Space Agency (ESA) for the Earth-focused Mission Zero and Mission Space Lab. The former allows young Python programmers to take humidity readings on board ISS while the latter lets students run various scientific experiments on the space station using its sensors....

Sony has officially unveiled the new logo for the PlayStation 5, and it looks exactly like what fans have come to expect. Coming to consumers in less than twelve months, the PS5 has recently been rumored to have a surprising amount of backwards compatibilty, and although fans of the console’s previous iterations haven’t yet been shown any concrete specifications on Sony’s newest gaming machine, anticipation for the PS5’s Holiday 2020 release is high....

Operating systems have vulnerabilities that can be exploited by cybercriminals to great effect. In the top 50 products with distinct vulnerabilities, seven of the top 10 are operating systems. Vulnerabilities result in exploits, and one such exploit example is the cross-platform remote access RAT Trojan named CrossRAT. The Mac App Store noticeably experienced some problems last night / early this morning with downloaded apps. Upon opening affected apps, the system would say that the app is ‘damaged’ and cannot be opened, just like the examples from Graham. It certainly seems scary at first glance. The error message recommends reinstalling your apps individually. While this will fix the problem, it’s a pain to do and isn’t necessary at all: your apps are fine, but the error message makes the situation sound far worse than it is....

A federal judge last week ruled that Psystar Corp. can continue its countersuit against Apple Inc., giving the Mac clone maker a rare win in its seven-month-old battle with Apple. He also hinted that if Psystar proves its allegations, others may then be free to sell computers with Mac OS X already installed. In an order signed on Friday, U.S. District Court Judge William Alsup gave Psystar the go-ahead to amend its lawsuit against Apple....

RadioShack is planning a new iPhone promotion starting tomorrow that will let new or upgrading users get an iPhone 5s at a significant discount. The 16 GB model of Apple’s latest smartphone will be available for $99, down from the usual price of $199 for all customers on AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon.
