Wentworth Miller, star of the FOX crime drama Prison Break, says that as far as he knows, a sixth season of the show is unlikely to come out in 2020. The series originally aired for four seasons on FOX between 2005 and 2009. Back in 2017, FOX revived the series for a fifth season of nine episodes, which aired from April 4th to May 30th of that year. This seemed to be the end of the story, but then cast member Dominic Purcell hinted at a possible Prison Break season 6....

In a more progressive social age, the call for inclusion and diversity in media is being heard loud and clear. A politician in Paris has proposed that a street in the city be named after the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs. Jerome Coumet, a member of the Socialist Party and mayor of the 13th district in Paris, suggested that four lanes surrounding the Halle Freyssinet area be named after Steve Jobs (via Le Bonbon). Halle Freyssinet is an area of the 13th district that is being constructed to be a startup incubator, with the city planning to hold 1,000 startups on the campus....

Verizon subsidiary Oath has announced that Yahoo Messenger is officially shutting down next month. Once one of the most popular and most innovative messaging service, Yahoo Messenger has waned in popularity in recent years… Oath says that Yahoo Messenger is shutting down on July 17th. The company is redirecting users to its new group messaging application, Squirrel. Interestingly, Squirrel is still in private beta, and it’s unclear if the service will open up to the public before Yahoo Messenger’s shutdown next month....

Early sales of the iPhone XS and XS Max appear to have gone well, with iPhone assembler Foxconn reporting a record high for its Q3 revenue … Reuters reports the company’s Q3 financials. Apple will report its own September quarter earnings on November 1st. Its guidance for its fiscal Q4 (calendar Q3) is for revenue between $60 and $62 billion. This would be up from $52.6B last year, but the figures aren’t comparable due to the delayed sale of the iPhone X....

The company found that at least 77 state and municipal governments, 1,043 schools, and 1,203 healthcare providers were impacted by a ransomware incident last year. The attacks also led to 118 data breaches, exposing troves of sensitive information. Emsisoft noted that while the numbers are still high, the 77 local governments attacked represents a decrease compared to 2020 and 2019, both of which saw 113 governments hit. In 2021, ransomware groups targeted smaller counties and towns instead of bigger cities like New Orleans, Baltimore, and Atlanta....

There are plenty of drama shows out there that kill important supporting characters and main characters without a second thought. Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and so many others. It’s almost harder to find a solid drama that doesn’t kill off key pieces. That being said, you can’t simply kill someone for the sake of it.
