Over the weekend prominent leaker Evan Blass, @evleaks on Twitter, shared a couple of interesting dates for when the next iPhone will be released. Blass tweeted that the 2016 iPhone would be released during the week of September 12th, then later specified that Friday, September 16th would be the actual retail release. Now Blass is digging further and adding that pre-orders for the next iPhone will “start on the 9th” which happens to be the Friday before the release date he shared previously....
TV’s original Breakout Kings are back for yet another Fox revival, and we’re hoping the Prison Break reboot is better in quality than previous efforts recently dusted off and shelled out by the network (we’re looking at you, 24: Live Another Day and The X-Files). Unfortunately, after watching the season five premiere, “Ogygia,” we’re not overly optimistic. As Qualcomm fights the Federal Trade Commission on antitrust charges in the US, it has just lost a case against another FTC: the Fair Trade Commission in Korea. Korea’s FTC fined Qualcomm a total of 273 billion won ($242M) for antitrust actions taken from 2000 to 2009, but the chipmaker refused to pay … It rejected the 2009 ruling and decided to fight it in court. The case reached the Seoul High Court in 2013, which ruled against the US company....
After agreeing to end a messy legal battle earlier this year, Qualcomm and Apple are now working closely on bringing 5G capabilities to the iPhone. Speaking at the company’s Snapdragon Tech Summit today, Qualcomm President Cristiano Amon emphasized that the relationship with Apple is currently “priority number one.” As PCMag reports, Amon explained that Qualcomm is working with Apple to launch “their phone as fast as we can.” While Amon was somewhat coy in terms of details, all reports indicate that the 2020 iPhone lineup will support 5G thanks to modems from Qualcomm....

Apple officially kicked off pre-orders of the devices last Friday and said it would begin shipping the two new iPads sometime this week. Apple’s carrier partners are also expected to start selling the new iPads in stores and online over the coming week with official announcements already made by AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile. Apple’s website currently lists all models of the new iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 as shipping within 2-4 business days....

iPhone users in Brazil will soon be able to make payments in stores using Apple Pay. Apple announced the mobile payment service was coming soon to Brazil in February, and now it appears Apple Pay will be available in Brazil starting tomorrow. Bank documentation first popped up for Apple Pay support in Brazil back in December, and Tim Cook confirmed on Apple’s last earnings call that Brazil would soon gain Apple Pay....
