It’s reported that Prince Harry’s father, Prince Charles had envisioned the Royal family’s future including Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle and their son, Archie. This is directly contrary to the reports that he wanted to slim down the monarchy and rid it of Harry and Meghan.
On Monday, January 13th, the Queen called an emergency meeting between the three princes to talk about Prince Harry and his wife, Duchess Meghan Markle’s decision to step down as senior royal members. The news of their abdication left a shockwave of emotion throughout the world and especially within the Royal family. The Queen, Harry’s brother Prince William, and his father Prince Charles were all reportedly upset by the news of Harry abandoning his role within the monarchy. However, after Duchess Meghan had a difficult time adjusting to life under the microscope of the British media and decided it would be best to distance themselves from their Royal duties, become financially stable, and split their time between North America and the UK.
Tensions are high within the royal family and the senior members sought to find a deal that would both please them and Harry and Meghan in this time of transition as they step down from their roles as senior members. The palace sources told People that there is a determination within the palace to understand what Harry and Meghan’s needs and come to a place of compromise. Sources close to Harry’s father, Prince Charles deny the reports that he wanted to slim-down the monarchy by removing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
In fact, a source revealed that not only did he never want to see the monarchy without Harry but that he wanted nothing more than to work alongside him as a senior member. The source said, “Charles has always envisioned working with both of his sons and their families in the future.” However, the contradicting reports surfaced that Prince Charles wanted to lean out the monarchy for cost purposes, which included Harry and his wife, seem to be made at the same time.
Since Monday, January 13th, the Queen revealed that she, Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince Harry, and Duchess Meghan have come to a compromise when it comes to their abdication. They revealed that they will give Harry and Meghan a period of transition. It’s been a difficult time for the whole British monarchy to deal with such a shock, but it’s reported that Prince Charles never wanted his younger son to be left out, and instead wanted to rule alongside him.
