Prince William and Duchess Kate released a Christmas card that sweetly shows off their perfect royal family of five. Featuring their three children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - the card shows just how much the kids have grown in the past year.

William and Kate got married in April 2011 after knowing each other for ten years. Just over two years later in July 2013, they welcomed their first child, Prince George, into the world. In May 2015, Princess Charlotte joined her brother as the newest member of the Royal Family. A little less than three years later in April 2018, the final member of their family, Prince Louis, was born. Last year’s Cambridge Household  Christmas card featured the family of five for the first time. The photo showed the Duke and Duchess sitting in a tree with Louis on Kate’s lap, while George and Charlotte wrapped their arms affectionately around their parents.

In this year’s Christmas card, the Duke and Duchess embraced an equally sweet and simplistic pose. In a photo posted to Twitter from photographer Benjamin Wareing (via Us Weekly), Prince William sits on a motorcycle with Louis perched in front of him. While Duchess Kate stands to his left, Prince George and Princess Charlotte take over the sidecar to the right. Now six and four respectively, the oldest children of the family sport casual clothes and perfect smiles, while their 18-month-old brother couldn’t yet muster up a grin for the picture.

In the past, the Duke and Duchess have made it clear that they want to make Christmas as normal as possible for their children. Last year, they insisted that their children get the full Christmas experience, engaging in many of the same customs as their schoolmates. Keeping with tradition, the Cambridge household will spend the holidays with Queen Elizabeth II at Sandringham House in Norfolk. However, the entire Royal Family won’t make an appearance this year. Earlier this year, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan announced that they would be celebrating the holiday’s with Meghan’s mother. Sources claimed that tension between William and Harry contributed to the decision to spend Christmas apart.

As the newer family among the Royals, most media attention focuses on Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan. While they’ve had a difficult year dealing with intense criticism from all sides, the rift between the members of the Royal family is most concerning. Although they’re not spending Christmas together, each family unit seems happy and at peace with their closest members. If the Cambridge Christmas card is any indication, Prince William and Duchess Kate are happy and prepared for a merry holiday season, with or without the other members of their family.
