Prince William and Duchess Kate showed off their Royal Christmas look over the recent holiday. The parents of George, Charlotte, and Louis were accompanied by Prince Charles as they walked to St. Mary Church in Sandringham.

Christmas is a time for family. However, given the rough year that the Royals have had, it’s no big surprise that this holiday was a divisive one. With Prince Andrew drowning under accusations of inappropriate behavior with underage girls at the late Jeffrey Epstein’s arrangement, as well as William and Harry’s sibling rivalry, the family seems to need a little time apart. Queen Elizabeth is in the sunset of her life, so having her family surrounding her for the holidays is likely to be important to her. Not only that, but Prince Phillip was released from a hospital stay just days before Christmas, so his longevity is likely a concern as well.

Regardless of all of the scandals, Kate stepped out on Christmas looking posh in a gray woolen trench coat with fur collar and coordinating forest green hat and shoes. William was dashing in a navy blue coat and tie. Prince Charles, minus wife Camilla, smiled at the crowd in his tan tweed coat, gray trousers, black shoes, Oxford shirt, and a red-patterned tie. Young George and Charlotte charmed in their Sunday best, coordinated to their parents’ respective looks. The royals walked in their Sunday best to St. Mary Church in Sandringham for the Christmas service.

After the Royal church outing, the family sat down to an impressive dinner, which, according to former Royal chef Darren O’Grady, took months to plan. According to Us Weekly, O’Grady revealed there is a meticulous need to choose only the finest ingredients. However, not all of the Royals were present for the festivities. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex missed out on celebrating with the Queen and other Royals as they went to Canada to celebrate their son, Archie’s first Christmas. This was reportedly a huge disappointment to Queen Elizabeth, despite the official account from the Palace.

As the New Year approaches, it is time to turn the page and hopefully, that means putting the scandals behind them. Royal watchers hope that this loving, albeit embattled family, will be in a much better place to tackle its highs and lows.
