Fans of Dancing with the Stars got a surprise this week when the stars of the HGTV show Property Brothers made an appearance. New couple Jonathan Scott and actress Zooey Deschanel, along with Drew Scott and his wife, Linda Phan, attended Monday’s live taping of the show.
Property Brothers is a home renovation show that features Drew as a realtor and Jonathan as a contractor. The show focuses on the identical twin brothers’ talent in renovating homes in need of improvement to give guests their previously unaffordable dream home. This, combined with their likable personalities and obvious sibling chemistry, has catapulted the show from its humble Canadian reality TV beginnings on W network to become one of HGTV’s top-rated shows. That success lead to many spinoff shows staring the brothers as well as several staring Drew and his wife Linda Phan.
As Us Weekly reported, though they were there just as spectators this time, this wasn’t the Property Brothers’ stars first time on Dancing with the Stars. Drew was a former contestant who appeared in season 25, partnered with pro Emma Slater. Drew did well on the show, with many high scoring weeks before ultimately finishing in 4th place. While not a contestant himself, Jonathan also took to the stage to join his brother in a jive, a move that shocked and thrilled fans of the reality stars. This week, however, all eyes were on him once again as he and Deschanel debuted the relationship with their first public appearance together.
The New Girl actress and HGTV star confirmed their relationship on September 14, shortly after photos emerged of the two holding hands. On the heels of this very recent and surprising news of the blossoming romance, the public has been intrigued by the pairing and clamoring for images of them together. The couple, who met on an episode of Carpool Karaoke, did not disappoint. They did not shy away from PDA, which had the fans of Dancing with the Stars buzzing. During the episode, fans could clearly see Jonathan with his arm comfortably around Zooey while watching the performances. They appeared very at ease together and even shared a few quick kisses in their front row seats, in full view of audience members.
While Dancing with Stars as always attracted many celebrity audience members - this episode also had Queer Eye star Karamo Brown’s costar Bobby Berk in attendance - there is no doubt that Jonathan and Zooey caused more buzz than usual. Fans were clearly grateful to get to share a moment with the adorable new couple. And, while fans will likely be watching for more public appearances by the pair, they will also be waiting to see what other stars turn up to support their fave Dancing with the Stars competitors.
