After New Girl star Zooey Deschanel announced her split with husband of four years, she has been spotted with Property Brothers: Forever Home star Jonathan Scott. The HGTV star confirmed the relationship with the actress this week.
Property Brothers, a staple of HGTV since 2011, consists of twin brothers Jonathan and Drew Scott who help couples transform their fixer-uppers into dream homes, with the help of older brother JD, they use 3D programing to imagine how they will transform the space. Then, the potential home buyers decide whether to take the risk on the renovation or not. In their new spinoff, Property Brothers: Forever Home, the original concept is flipped on its head, as the families they work with have already decided on their home as being “the one.”
Scott, who ended his previous relationship with Jacinta Kuznetsov back in April of 2018, spoke to Us on Friday, September 13th about his new relationship with someone special. He said, “I am seeing someone,” as he tried to keep the identity of his new love interest secret. He explained, “I’m a very private person, so I don’t typically talk about that.” Even though Scott didn’t want to reveal who the lucky lady was, he was spotted out the same day with Deschanel, holding hands in Silver Lake, California. He spoke of Deschanel, “It’s definitely special for me because I am the guy who raises the bar in what I’m looking for in a partner.” The Property Brothers star explained that he wasn’t looking for love, and so the relationship with the actress had him “caught a little off guard. It was definitely a pleasant surprise.” It seems that Deschanel’s relationship to Scott began earlier than fans expected, as Drew Scott posted a picture on August 4th of himself, his brother, with Deschanel and her sister, Emily Deschanel, riding in a car together. The New Girl actress had just announced her split with her husband of four years, Jacob Pechenik. The couple shared a statement earlier this month saying, “After much discussion and a long period of contemplation we have decided we are better off as friends, business partners, and co-parents rather than life partners. We remain committed to our business, our values and most of all our children.” Deschanel and ex-husband Pechenik share two children together, Elsie, 4, and Charlie, 2. The two aren’t legally divorced as of yet.
It seems that the HGTV star and the actress are having a good time getting to know each other in these early phases of their relationship. It remains to be seen when they decide to go public with their relationship, but right now it seems the two have let go of their previous relationships in order to find something special with each other - to Property Brothers: Forever Home fans, it’s a pleasant surprise indeed.
