Sony is giving three games to PlayStation Plus subscribers in February 2020, with BioShock: The Collection, The Sims 4, and Firewall Zero Hour being made available next month. When looking back at PlayStation Plus, the service used to be a much better deal, as Sony used to give away PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita games to subscribers.

The PlayStation Plus service eventually phased out the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita games, which means that fans now only receive two PlayStation 4 games a month. This means that a subpar selection of games can lead to an outcry from the fans, which may have influenced the decision to change the PlayStation Plus lineup last July.

The official PlayStation Europe YouTube channel has uploaded a video announcing the PlayStation Plus titles for February 2020 and subscribers will be receiving three games instead of two. BioShock: The Collection leads the pack with two of the best games of the last generation (and BioShock 2), which means that PlayStation Plus subscribers are technically receiving five games this month. BioShock: The Collection includes remastered versions of BioShock, BioShock 2, and Bioshock Infinite. The addition of this collection to PlayStation Plus could be one of Sony’s attempts to undercut Nintendo, as there are rumors that BioShock: The Collection is coming to the Switch in 2020.

The other two games coming to PlayStation Plus are The Sims 4 and Firewall Zero Hour. The Sims 4 was released for the PlayStation 4 back in 2017 and it’s the continuation of the incredibly popular life-simulation series, even if it has been criticized for a lack of content and an abundance of DLC. Firewall Zero Hour is a PlayStation VR game that pits teams of four players against each other in one of the tensest first-person shooters on the system. These three titles will be available to subscribers on February 2, which means that the January PlayStation Plus games can still be claimed for a few more days.

It’s rare for Sony to be so generous with its PlayStation Plus lineup since the number of games was slashed. It’s possible that this could be a new trend in the lead-up to the release of the PlayStation 5. The rumors of the PlayStation 5 being backward compatible with every iteration of the system could lead to an electrifying PlayStation Plus selection in the future, especially if Sony wants to compete with the Xbox Series X in the next few years.
