A couple of months ago, U.S based chip maker introduced successor of the last year launched Snapdragon 660 SoC, called Snapdragon 670 chipset. Today, Qualcomm unveiled the latest entry to the company’s mid-range Snapdragon 600 series chipset, called Snapdragon 675 chipset. The Sd 675 SoC is an improved version of the Snapdragon 670 chipset which built with 11nm LPP process technology. The SD 675 chipset will offer better gaming performance, a step up in AI functionality, and a “cutting-edge” camera over to SD 670 chipset.
The Qualcomm’s latest mid-range chipset comes with Snapdragon X12 modem which supports download speed up to 600Mbps and 3x carrier aggregation. The new chipset is compatible with Bluetooth 5 connectivity. The SD 675 chipset supports Quick Charge 4+ charger which charges phone battery up to 50% in just 15 minutes. It also supports Qualcomm’s Aqstic and aptX audio technologies.
The new Snapdragon 675 chipset coupled with Octa-Core Kryo 460 CPU which clocks at 2.0 GHz. There two performance cores and six efficiency cores. The SD 675 chipset offers 20% better performance than the SD 670 SoC. The new mid range chipset supports Adreno 612 GPU which will offer high frame-rate, smooth gaming experience in SD 675 chipset powered phones. The new chipset supports 8 GB of RAM. The company also working with game developers to offers more better gaming performance in Snapdragon 600 series chipset.
The SD 675 chipset has Qualcomm 250L image signal processor (ISP) which helps phones owner to take professional grade pictures and shoot videos in both day and night. The Snapdragon 675 chipset supports triple camera sensors on the back and front side of the phone, wide angle lens, super wide angle lens and 5x optical zoom telephoto lens. It also supports 3D face recognition, portrait mode for the Bokeh effect, and will deliver what Qualcomm calls “epic” selfies. The new chipset allows smartphone users to shoot slow motion video and playback at 480fps.
