Antoni Porowski, Queer Eye’s resident foodie, is duking it out with genius chef and entertainment extraordinaire Martha Stewart… but it’s all in good fun. The two playfully bickered via Instagram comments after Porowski snapped a shot outside of Stewart’s home and captioned it: “patiently keeping my hands warm by her fire pit until @marthastewart48 follows me back.”
Stewart jokingly commented on the post with: “I think we started a social media ‘feud’ which was not the point I just wanted you to acknowledge my fire, my animals and my food which you seemed to love???” Not to fear, though. The culinary masters are only messing around Porowski quickly recovered by addressing the “faux-feud,” saying he would do so any day. He concluded his reply with, “Your adorable & gentle pups, latkes w caviar, Virginia ham, and hospitality (oh and all those cookies) deserve ALL the acknowledgment.”
It all began with a post earlier that week. Porowski attended a Christmas get-together at Stewart’s home. Being the animal lover that he is, Porowski posted photos of Stewart’s dogs and even a shot from her horse stables. Porowski’s faux-pas was in not tagging the Queen of Entertaining in his photos. Playfully disappointed in not being properly recognized, Stewart commented:
After that, Porowski hastily edited his photos to reflect a @marthastewart48 tag and later took to Instagram Stories to apologize for his disrespect of her pets, saying: “…apologies for not respectfully mentioning dear doggos Empress Chin, Emperor Han, Bête Noire, and cuddle monster Créme Brûlée,” adding that Stewart’s pets “deserve recognition” and that he rewatches her “cabbage roll demo with your dear mum Mrs. Kostyra more often than I care to admit.”
“Dear antoni: this is @marthastewart48 You did not tag me on this photo of my stable nor the photo of my beautiful dogs Han, Qin , bete noir and creme brulee. We are bummed about that because you have so many followers and you are my Christmas cookies!!! You were nice not to post the forbidden scenes and we thank you!!!”
Despite Porowski’s little misstep, the two remain friends on the social media platform. Having lost Bruley this year, Porowski’s need to cuddle a “doggo” is completely understandable. Queer Eye fans enjoyed the culinary experts’ bout of bickering and look forward to more in the future. That said, what fans are really hoping for is a collaboration between the two. It’s always possible that Stewart would probably be willing to help out the next round of heroes that the Fab Five get their hands on, but until then, these Instagram “faux-feuds” will have to do.
