The Rambo: Last Blood cast brings back Sylvester Stallone in the titular role, but also introduces several new faces to the ongoing franchise, some of whom audiences may recognize and some they may not. Directed by Adrian Grunberg, Rambo: Last Blood marks the fifth installment in the Rambo movie series.
First Blood kicked off the Rambo cinematic franchise in 1982. The characters are based on David Morrell’s 1972 novel of the same name, with Sylvester Stallone playing a Vietnam veteran, John Rambo, struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. In this past, the character not only experienced war, but was tortured by Viet Cong soldiers. Incidentally, Rambo’s unresolved issues lead to conflict with American authorities. Two movie sequels were released during the ‘80s, and the fourth chapter, Rambo, came out in 2008. Rambo: Last Blood features the protagonist’s attempts to rescue his niece from a Mexican drug cartel.
The Rambo film franchise has a unique legacy of actors and actresses, as well as the characters they played, and the Rambo: Last Blood cast certainly adds to that growing list.
